It is quite possible I could be missing a step when uninstalling and reinstalling the drive. (Code 39)" I have looked here on the forums and elsewhere online to find a solution to this problem, and multiple sources online are telling other users to uninstall and then reinstall the Synaptics driver which I have done but nothing seems to be working. When I click the Synaptics properties, the device status says "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. As well, the Microsoft usb mouse is listed but it also has an exclamation mark with a yellow triangle around it. I went into device manager, and under Mice and other pointing devices, the Synaptics PS/2 Port Touchpad device has a symbol beside it which has an exclamation mark with a yellow triangle around it. I have tried plugging in a Microsoft usb mouse as well but for whatever reason that doesn't want to work either so I am limited to just my keyboard. The light is on and everything, but when I am on my desktop, the cursor is unable to move and is frozen.

The touchpad on my laptop is not working for some reason. I am currently on a Pavilion dv6 model: 6148ca, Windows 7 os.
